A taste of what’s to come… 24 hour team rowing challenge

On the 25th January Team Commando Spirit, along with 13 other teams taking part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2020, took part in a 24 hour rowing challenge to raise money for each of their chosen charities. Team Commando Spirit has chosen support Rock2Recovery, who do invaluable work supporting distressed veterans and their families.

The challenge, hosted at the Rivery & Rowing Museum in Henley on Thames, replicated the conditions all teams will face when they take on the Atlantic race in December. Beginning at 10am on Saturday morning, each team rowed constantly for 24 hours, using the 2 hours on, 2 hours off rowing schedule they will adopt for the crossing. Spending the entire 24 hours at the museum, training, sleeping and eating, gave the teams the opportunity to experience the broken sleep patterns of life at sea.

If you’d like to support our challenge and help us raise as much as possible for Rock2Recovery, please check out our GoFundMe page. Every donation helps!
