“It’s OK not to feel OK…” That’s the clear message that we want to send to our comrades who are struggling with their mental health. We’re taking on one of the toughest challenges in the world to raise awareness and money for two fantastic charities.
We all have first-hand experience of the devastating effects of mental health problems, having suffered ourselves and lost close friends. We’ve also seen the great work of our chosen charities and the enormous difference they can make. Please help us to help them to help save lives.
“Inspire, coach and motivate.”
Rock2Recovery helps members of the Armed Forces and veterans, along with their families, who are affected by mental health issues. With a mission to change and save the lives of those in need, Rock2Recovery works to inspire, coach and motivate towards a more positive future.
Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, Co-Founder of Rock2Recovery and DS in Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, sent a message to the team: “This is an awesome challenge that will test your strengths and weaknesses to the limit - but I know you have it in you. I’m so impressed that you are raising money for The Royal Marines Charity and for Rock2Recovery.”
“Once a Marine, always a Marine.”
The Royal Marines Charity supports serving Marines, veterans and their families with a range of services. It can help with financial assistance, finding a second career for those making the transition to civilian life and, of course, providing guidance and support for those with mental health issues.
Jonathan Ball, CEO of The Royal Marines Charity has also commented on the team’s efforts: "Royal Marines pride themselves on a positive mindset and the work of The Royal Marines Charity and Rock2Recovery is all about rekindling this mindset in those who are facing physical and mental battles every day. Team Commando Spirit has embraced this mindset so they can overcome their incredible Atlantic challenge.”
